I'm wanting to overclock my AMD phenom x2 550 Black Edition, need help?

I want to OC it, because its a Black Edition and thats what there do special for, "overclocking". So i was wandering how could I do this? the AMD overdrive utilitys feature tht automatically does it makes my monitor lag out and turn off. So how else could I overclock this processor? Again, its an: AMD Phenmon xII 550 Black Edition @3.10Ghz (Factory Default)
