No, this act would rebound as the BNP is certainly looking for a token "Non-Ethnic" to give them some credibility. The Sikhs have never been found of Islam and it is more about the fact that many Sikhs were dispossessed when Pakistan was created, so it is evident that he would have a hatred of Muslims. This is a thing that the BNP would want to exploit as there are Indians who have similar views to the BNP with regards to Muslims especially the ones from Pakistan.
