Valentines Day family ideas?

Honestly? I think spending time with the fam is great on Valentines Day! However, the key is to wear the kids out (early bed times can be GREAT!) I suggest you engage in a cooking activity together. Wake up early to surprise dad with a breakfast in bread. Or make a whole day thing out of it! Bake a cake: go to the store (field trip), while it's baking maybe make a Valentine's card for grandma or you neighbors, eat the cake (obviously) but not until later. Ok, the thing is, you want to have them looking forward to eating the cake all day, that way when they get some, they'll be so excited they get a sugar high, let them run around the house, and watch them crash. It might sound manipulative, but in the end: they're happy, you're happy, and, best of all, hubby is happy!
