How should I best go about laying Vinyl Sheet flooring over an MDF Floor? Vinyl is not cushioned?

My husband and I are pretty new to the whole DIY and are not to sure how to go about this. I have read that if the vinyl is not cushioned you need to use adhesive. What am I looking for and what is it called? Also the MDF we want to lay on is our 'floor'. We have an 85+ year old house with some dodgy floors, all a bit slopey in the 70's addition of the house. As it is impossible to get willing tradies where we live we put joists on top of our wonky floorboards and installed a new floor of 15mm MDF. Please tell me we can put adhesive on this. Two year old misbehaving?

I dont know were to turn. I have a two year old and a Three year old. my daughter is two and has been unbearable. I cannot control her, she is constantly misbehaving the last couple of weeks. She is always screaming, fighting, kicking us and yelling at us and saying leave her alone. Hello everyone. I'm from Sacramento/Elk Grove, California. I'm currently insured with Bristol West Auto Insurance for the past 3 years. And when you do, (after 1 hour of holding) they'll put you on hold some more, or even tell you they'll call you back. Which they never will. My point is BW customer service is very very crappy. I need help choosing an auto insurance company that's reputable but yet affordable. Considering the fact that I have an SR22 on file, low rates is my main focus. The lower, the better. I'm planning to insure 4 vehicles (1 is temporary until car get smogged) and 3 drivers. We all have good driving record, inspite of my dropped DUI case. Three of the cars are years '91 and under. Can a portion of a back yard be leveled off fairly easily for installation of back yard items?

My yard is sloping mostly on about a 30-45 degree angle in places. Makes it really fun for water slides and sleigh riding but a pain for mowing and other necessities. I have thought about having a concrete slab poured for a small patio and would like to have a pool put in. There is a portion in the top part of the yard that is almost perfectly flat, but it is not enough to put everything. There would be enough room for MAYBE a swingset for the kids considering the other portion is filled with a flowering dogwood and some other beautiful flowers which will not be removed at this time. Poor landscaping choices from the previous owners of the house. How difficult would it be to correct the slope of the yard? I don't see any possibility of getting any kind of heavy equipment brought in here. The grade on the street above me would be entirely too steep. There is no room between the house beside myself and I to move anything like even if we removed the fencing temporarily to do so.

How to cook egg in fried rice?

Following some recipes, I can cook the egg separately and then add it to the fried rice towards the end. However, I've seen Asian cooks add whole eggs directly to the rice and stir it in. Car won't start! A 2000 Chevy Malibu, and is causing me to say things like son-of-a-bucket and what-the-fetch!?

It has been giving me problems for a few weeks now where it takes a while to start up like cars sometimes do on bitterly cold days. Either way it would try for a few seconds and then start. Today it started up no problem when I left for work at 3am, and only stalled out a second or two when I got out of work at 11, now when I went to go to the library, and turned the key: it clicked once and was silent. naturally the check engine light, battery light and oil light all come on, but that happens no matter what, just turning on the car, after a has stop... My "grease-monkey" self got out and checked the oil level, coolant level and the rest of my oils and additives. I have almost a full tank of gas. It is only a 1.5 year old battery. I can't think of what the problem is that it won't even try this time. Any ideas?

Good people. 92A and Y are supply. They can be very good to very bad. The person who replyed sounds like one of the bad one. They have all the good stuff and hook each other up but very rarely do so for the soldiers they are supposed to supply. They network and only work on hooking each other up. Windows Media Player not syncing music to Sansa Clip+?

I have a Sansa Clip+, WMP 11, and a Vista Home Premium package. For at least 6 months, I have been able to sync music to my MP3 with no trouble. My dad owns a Clip+ as well, and last night, all of a sudden, it stopped syncing to his MP3. I checked with mine to see if the problem was with just his MP3 player, and it wouldn't sync to mine, either. When I drag songs over to the sync list (it DOES still recognize my MP3) and click 'Start Sync', it will do nothing and immediately say it's finished syncing even though it hasn't done anything, whether I try one song or a full list of songs, it doesn't work. WMP functions normally other than this, it still burns and rips CDs fine, and my MP3 player (and my dad's) function perfectly fine. What could have caused this, and how can I fix it? Sounds to me like your missing a vacuum line. The C-4 and C-6 Ford transmissions had a vacuum line on them that allowed for the transmission to shift correctly. The valve is either bad or the vacuum line is missing, kinked, or bad. Other wise I would look at the kick down linkage being out of adjustment. to test this you can disconnect the kick down linkage from the carb and take it for a little test drive. If the problem has gone away you will need to adjust the linkage. Try these things and see if it helps.

My dog, Coco, is turning twelve this December. She's part Chihuahua and part Beagle we think, with possibly other breeds in her. She's very healthy and has never had any health problems. For a while now, when light shines in her eyes, instead of the black part being black, in it's depths it's milky white-gray, almost as if there's a foggy film within her eyes. (not a film on the surface of her eyes, but inside of her pupils) I believe that it's gotten worse over time. She doesn't run into stuff i.e., or show signs of blindness, but she's been uncharacteristically clumsy (although this could be because of her old joints). My parents have dismissed her eyes as cataracts, saying that "Old dogs get them." and "We don't have the money to remove cataracts." . Also, as a side note, when I take pictures of my 3 year old dog, JJ, with a flash on, her pupils glow a normal white or red. When I do this with Coco, her pupils are glowing green. I'm really worried. Is she going blind? Can she not see very well? Are they just cataracts? Will cataracts make her go blind? Is there an inexpensive way to fix her eyes? Thank you!

Valentines Day family ideas?

Honestly? I think spending time with the fam is great on Valentines Day! However, the key is to wear the kids out (early bed times can be GREAT!) I suggest you engage in a cooking activity together. Wake up early to surprise dad with a breakfast in bread. Or make a whole day thing out of it! Bake a cake: go to the store (field trip), while it's baking maybe make a Valentine's card for grandma or you neighbors, eat the cake (obviously) but not until later. Ok, the thing is, you want to have them looking forward to eating the cake all day, that way when they get some, they'll be so excited they get a sugar high, let them run around the house, and watch them crash. It might sound manipulative, but in the end: they're happy, you're happy, and, best of all, hubby is happy!

Morning sickness! please help!?

I am 9 and a half weeks pregnant, and my morning sickness is out of control. It is an all day, every day thing. I have phenigren gel, and pill form but it doesn't help. Also, i have tried ginger ale, lemon water, setting snacks by the bed to eat before i get up, anything i can think of, and it doesn't help. I haven't had a lot of vomiting but the nausea is getting in the way of college. I have missed several days, and I NEED college more than ever now that I am going to be taking care of another little life. Any tips for the nausea would be great, and if anyone knows if a doctor will consider giving a doctors note for school for morning sickness so that i can at the very least take my exams late and not be punished for lack of attendance that would help me out greatly. I know it will p soon, but I just feel like I can't handle it much longer!

I've read so many articles, and none of them good about the jeep cherokee. They have chronic starting problems, clutch and transmission problems as well. I know you are looking for probably 4wd due to the harsh fall and winter climate. My first car was a 1952 VW Beetle. My dads 4wd jeep constantly got stuck in the mud and my little 4 cyl. bug pulled his truck out of the mud more times than I can count and snow too. I bought it because it was 400.00 and thats all I had and i drove that car non stop being a teenager for pennies. I had very little money, yet due to it's very frugal use of fuel, I never ran out of money to get to town and that was the point. Having money left over. It seldom had to be fixed even tho it was 17 years old and had 300,000 miles on it. What a little work horse. I'm not advising you to buy a bug, I'm just saying sometimes you get more than you pay for and sometimes, you pay an awful lot for something that has to be repaired constantly and you don't have a dime left at that point to go do the things you wanted a car for to begin with. I'm a truck lover and always have been. My son bought a 4wd ford and it lived in the shop and it was brand new fortunately. They never could make the 4wd work like it was supposed to, so we traded it in. I hear Toyota is making a very dependable 4wd model now. You might check into those. Dependability outweighs coolness everytime. 13 kids in my family, we all had cars, mine was way cheaper and certainly not in the cool department, but while my siblings cars sat in the yard awaiting them to find the money to fix them or chronically in the shop, I was always off in town cruising around, seeing friends, in the ugliest car in america. I felt far more cool having something to depend on than my other siblings with their cool expensive gas hogs they couldn't afford to drive or keep running. the bigger the motor in them, the more the auto insurance is going to cost you and if its "red" they will charge you more. Study's have proven people who buy RED vehicles tend to always speed, take unnessary chances on the road and are more prone to CAUSING accidents. So keep this in mind when auto shopping. Being 16 your insurance will already be outrageous, but if you buy a super jacked up higher truck, that will cost a lot more too. The more cool you try to be, its going to cost you big time in very real money. I drive a 4 cyl. isuzu hombre, no 4wd , its white which is the most visible color after dark to help prevent "others" from hitting you. Dark colors tend to blend into the dark road colors as well and frankly you seem invisible as a result. Its like camo in the forest. Being visible is very important. You may be a very good driver, but the rest of the world, is busy playing with their cell phones and texting while driving, playing with the car stereo and not keeping their eyes on the road and will wipe out your car. WEll you are insured you aren't worried right? Wrong, to make them pay up, you have to sue them, your car in the mean time will stay crippled and broken for 3 to 6 months awaiting insurance companies to finally settle a claim so you can at last get your car fixed or get a check to buy another and there you sit. Forget cool. Cool is a death trap. Go for dependability. My Hombre is a great and economical little truck, gets me anywhere I want to go, but horrible in snow. I haven't had any mud problems at all with it, but it just doesn't do well at all on icy roads. But I'm in NC and we don't own snow chains or snow tires here. We got our first snow last year for the first time in 6 years. We used to get 5 to 6 snows a year but global warming has knocked that out. None the less, i was stuck again in my own yard and it took me 2 days to shovel my way out. Try Toyota. Mazda owners are happy as long as its fair weather, but otherwise, they aren't too happy. Good luck on your search. If you are buying a used vehicle, pay the money and use "car facts" to check for previous wrecks which once repaired you can't tell they've been wrecked before. But once that frame has been bent, all kinds of cronic internal problems begin and thats usually when people get rid of a car to buy a new one. There isn't a car salesman born you can trust. So I recently ate at this really nice restaurant and there was so much silverware. Three forks on the left, spoon fork spoon above, then knife soup spoon knife to the right. I know what the three forks were for and all the silverware above the plate, but I never could figure out what the OTHER knife was for. It wasn't the er knife, because that was on the roll plate. I bought some prime, bone-in rib-eyes from Costco a few weeks ago. I grilled them on a small weber grill over really hot coals so that the fat and marbling became charred, then I moved them to a slightly cooler spot on the grill to finish cooking for a total cooking time of about 6-7 minutes per side. I like mine a little less than medium. I would say to cook yours for about 8 min for you and 10-12 for your hubby. Toxins in Aquarium water?

Hi, ok I have just set up a fresh water aquarium. The tank has been brought up to temp and filters, heaters, air-ration have been running for 36 hours. I picked up two Pictus Catfish and both died the next day. They were properly acclimated to the tank. A couple days later I picked up a Fiddler Crab and... dead the next day. I know since it's a new tank there is not an established Nitrogen cycle going yet, but I have been testing the waters pH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate levels and they are all at zero PPM. The pH level is at 7.4. What is going on here? is there something toxic in our water that does not affect the test I performed? We are on a well so there should be no chemicals that tap water will have. Please help if you can Thanks, Tom.
